How to Catch Starbright in FFXIV ???? - The Unofficial, Official Fish of Starlight Celebration!

Bait: Brute Leech OR Purse Web Spider (Mooch)
Conditions: 21 - 4, Clear or Fair Skies

????Window Prep
Arrive a little early to The Nail, use Prize Catch, and cast out with Brute Leech or Purse Web Spider. Abalathian Smelt will be the only fish that bites with these two baits, and we want to get a Large-Sized one to hold onto for when the window opens. It is a ! bite. Once you catch a Large Sized one, hold onto it until the Starbright window opens. Maybe sing your favorite Starlight songs while you wait.

????Starbright Window
Once the window opens, Mooch the Abalathian Smelt you caught earlier. Starbright is the only !!! bite in the Nail, so to save time and maximize the amount of casts you get, ignore any other bite with the mooch. Once you've used the first mooch, cast out again and catch another Abalathian Smelt, then mooch it again. Most likely, you will have just used Mooch II because the Smelt was average sized.

While Mooch II is on cooldown, use Patience II to catch large-sized Abalathian Smelts. You'll need to use Precision Hookset to catch the consistent ! bite. Patience II is recommended here because it's more GP efficient. You'll spend more GP using Prize Catch over and over to catch Smelts than you would Patience II. If you don't have Patience II, Patience I is fine as well.

If Mooch II isn't on Cooldown, you don't need to use Patience II, just catch another Smelt normally until you have to Mooch II and it goes on Cooldown again. Repeat this process until the window ends or you catch Starbright. Again, Starbright is a !!! bite, and if you are using Patience requires Powerful Hookset to catch.

????Free Trial Change
For the prep, you'll have to use Patience I or II to get a large sized Abalathian Smelt. If you're concerned about GP, arrive early enough to catch the Smelt AND let your GP regen. Beyond that, you can follow this guide as written!
